Torneo della Befana | Minibasket | Padova | 3 - 6 gennaio 2024

This edition of the International Befana tournament is the edition of the record. From Wednesday 2 to Saturday, January 5th, the event, sponsored by Hurricane Basketball under the patronage of FIP in Padua and support Streetball.it, animate different grouns between the province of Padua and Bassano del Grappa, involving 762 mini-players category Aquilotti. A basketball review of the most important in Italy, that in the fifteenth year of life will see 48 teams at the starting line for the first time . Nine teams from other regions, that will reach Veneto, and even from the mainland: the group of Macedonian KK Tomas hosted by the families of Hurricane. Seven teams will stay in the high schools of Limena, while a team (Trieste) will be welcomed in a hotel.
The program is full and tight: the boys will play 144 games in four days. These the numbers gutted yesterday during a press conference in Piombino Dese, at the presence of Leopold Carraro, manager of Hurricane, Ilario Livieri, Vice mayor of the municipality of Piombino Dese, Roberto Nardi, President of the FIP of Padua, Andrea Franceschi, New basketball Dese, Lamberto “Vic” Morello, Pro Pace, and the representatives of Olimpia Camposampiero, Cmb Team 78 Martellago and Cmb Cittadella Cubs. «We never thought to get to 48 teams – said Carraro – a sign that the tournament has acquired a certain importance: at national level is the second most important of all. We have partnered with new companies, such as Bassano, thanks to which the initiative will take place also outside our country. This will be my last year as head of organization, but leave in very good hands the future of the event, sure that Andrea Beghin will beable to carry on the Befana of minibasket. I thank the government, which allow us to use the gym for free, and FIP of Padua, which will cover expenses due to half to the races on the calendar».
